Dwayne Cote taught Cape Breton fiddle classes at the Northeast Heritage Music Camp (Peter Langston and Ken Perlman, directors) on the campus of Johnson State College in Johnson, Vermont, June 15 - 21, 2008.
This concert took place on the evening of Saturday, June 21, 2008 at the River Arts concert space in Morrisville, Vermont. Dwayne was the first performer in the second set. The concert was sponsored by both River Arts and Concerts for Tom.
Gorgeous piece! And played so beautifully, too! Correct me if I am wrong, but is there not a faster version of this on one of Natalie or Buddy's CD's? (Played in march time?)

Beautiful tone and amazing music of course on the fiddle, Dwayne! And don't forget Grey Larsen whi is playing tastefully with Dwayne on the ivories.
I hope, Oliver, that you've settled down a little on your videographic style with a steady hand and focus. No need for the blurry ceiling moments unless you were blissing out during the tunes and momentarily forgot the camera. Understandable.
Ken, we miss you here in Bloomington.

@hillfiddler Thanks for the info. Wil have to get the music for this. I've already learned The Banks.

@mactcampbell Not suprisingly, James Scott Skinner wrote Glories of the Star which can be found in both The Fiddle Music of Scotland, by James Hunter, called "the Hunter book" and the Caledonian Companion as well. The 2nd tune, The Banks, attributed to Parazotti is in the Hunter book too.

Great set!!!! Dwayne is in his usual form. I think he said that the first tune was "Glory of the Star". Who wrote this and where can I get the sheet music for it?
Cheers Dwayne, maybe sometime soon we can have a few tunes.
