  • Does this mean I can just boot up RPGmaker, make a sadistic game with red as the motif colour and I will automatically have a fun game? ROFL. violence is fun, especially when it is wonton and senseless. Forget about games where the closest thing to violence occurring is the comparison of numeric values and hell knows, that may actually be part of the illusive fun factor.

  • @ManjixIchigo I think it looks bad for him when he says "fun = violence". I was just saying that there really is no inherent link between violence and fun, its just what appeals to the typical "teenage male" audience. In reality, a game's "fun" levels are based off how the game plays

  • @DemonmachinE I actually beat the game as many times as she did, i found it strangely addicting, lol. I guess I enjoyed it so much because it was so vastly different from what I am used to, but I dunno, I just had fun playing it, although I can understand playing it that it's not something everyone will get in to.

  • @Shintai123 So did my sister. She's beaten it maybe 10 times now, but the gameplay just doesn't really appeal to me. I tried the PS2, didn't really like it so I said I'd wait for the HD collection and try that one... tried it and the same thing happened. I guess it just doesn't appeal to me for some reason. Can't really pinpoint why, either.

  • @DemonmachinE I actually found Shadow of the Colossus genuinely fun to play, not just an artsy fartsy romp.

  • I agree that games have to be fun to be good. For example, Shadow of the Colossus. I'm not a huge fan of the gameplay so I rarely play it. I love all the aesthetics and it's fun to watch my sister play it, but to play it myself isn't really fun for me, and so to me it's not as great of a game as a result.

I always get annoyed when people say a game sucks because of its graphics when it has incredible gameplay... the gameplay is really the most important factor for a game to me.
