It took a server drop on October 19, 1987 and then in 2008 and 2010. Gary was a shit hole by 1987. @1996mz I live just south of there for 20 years and worked in East Chicago so don't tell me. There was a billboard on Braodway southbond right before the exit to I-80/94 that read" Ther Last One Out of Gary Please Turn the Lights OFF!'  This was in1980. So yes it is verry true. There is a film here on "You Tube" about Gary in 50's and 60's watch and then tell me that is not true. In the film there are white people everywhere. The whites left and now look at it.

The city was destroyed by racism, whites fled, the businesses followed and the black racists took advantage of the white panic, to establish a complete and total Black political hegemony over the power structure an municipal contracts.
