Ms. Fannie Bell (Wood) Spratling, age 74, a resident of 188 Cotney Road, Wadley, Alabama 36276, passed away at her residence in Wadley, on Thursday, December 23, 2010.
Public viewing and visitation hours for the late Ms. Spradling will be observed on Tuesday, December 28, 2010, between the hours of 10:00 am and 6:00 pm.
Funeral Services for the late Ms. Spradling will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2010, at 1:00 P.M. from Cogar Hill C.M.E. Church, Daviston, Alabama, where The Reverend Travis Floyd is Pastor, with Reverend Stephen Knighting, Eulogist.
Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery at Cogar Hill C.M.E. Church Daviston.
The Obituary
Miss Fannie Bell Wood was born April 25, 1936 in Clay County, Alabama, to the parentage of the late Thomas Wood and Rosie Lee Bledsoe.
In June of 1951, she united in marriage with the late Jim Frank Spratling of Daviston, who preceded her in death September 5, 1968.
She joined the body of believers at the Cogar Hill C.M.E. Church, Daviston, where she remained a member until her home-going.
She was a devoted employee of 23 years of Terry Manufacturing Company.
She was preceded in death by both parents; her husband, Jim Frank Spratling, two sons: Alvin and Calvin Spratling; a daughter, Linda Dell Spratling; three sisters: Lue Neil Lindsey, Jure Hooks, and Geneva Hardnett.
She departed this life on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at her residence in Daviston, Alabama.
She leaves to cherish many loving memories two (2) sons: Jim Spratling (Gwen) of Wadley, Alabama and Sammy Spratling of Daviston, Alabama; and five (5) daughters: Diana Baggett, Brenda Pyant (Lamar), Betty Shears, and Rosa Spratling all of Roanoke, Alabama; and Barbara Weaver of Wadley, Alabama;
one (1) brother, Willie Wood of Dayton, Ohio;
seventeen (17) grandchildren; thirteen (13) great grandchildren; two (2) special grandchildren, Tia and Jeremy Spratling; a life-long friend, Jean Zachery of Wadley, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, friends and loved ones.

Oh! She died 2 days before Christmas... I know that family was hurting. My aunt died December 14th, 2007 and that was 11 days before Christmas. It didn't even seem like Christmas when she died. But time heals all wounds and she was called to be with the Lord Jesus!
