Mint Polo in the Park

Silver Spring 1870 were proud sponsors of Team Durban at the second annual Mint Polo in the Park, an amazing polo tournament which aims to bring polo to a city audience from the decadent surroundings of Hurlingham Park, situated in swanky Fulham.

The event on Saturday 5th June saw celebrity polo enthusiasts from Jodie and Jack Kidd to Lawrence Dallaglio descend on prestigious Hurlingham to take in the chukkas in the thrilling tournament which comprises 8 international teams; London, New York, Buenos Aires, Paris, Geneva, Moscow, Durban and Sydney.

Team Durban put up a brave performance in a southern hemisphere battle with Team Sydney but ultimately the Aussies were triumphant and left our boys riding into the sunset without the win they had hoped for.

During the three day event, guests were treated to delicious 1870 gin and vodka aperitifs in the glorious pitch-side marquees and bars, which proved popular as the temperatures soared to 30 degrees! All in all we had a fabulous weekend and it was great to see polo being enjoyed by a much wider audience, we can't wait until next year!
