I have heard this one so many times and when he gets to the solo it just touches me and I feel the song. This one and Hey You are two of my fave Floyd songs. That and all of Wish You Were Here and Animals and the rest of the Wall. Did I mention Dark Side and a big chunk of Meddle.

No- I know exactly what Rick means about basing his life around songs. I was in care when I was a kid + the 1st time I heard this song I couldn't believe the lyrics. It's as if the Floyd had been inside my head + said all I wanted to say about my life. I'll have this song played @ my funeral (Comfortably Numb- pun intended !). These men are like gods to me. Superb musicians + lyrics to rival any poet. Their intelligence + beautiful music brings me to tears every time. Incredible stuff.

I agree...this song is important. It has lasting value and is appreciated by generations who will be able to relate. There's not a lot of this stuff being made these days. The likes of Simon Cowell ensure we are inundated with shit like that Ga Ga slut and cute little Miley.

One of the best song and solo ever. Probably the best whit Led Zeppelin's Stairway to heaven. This is THE MUSIC!
