That Penguins team had a ton of talent but they also had some good fortune in the teams that they played in the playoffs: Moog and Bruins defense could not stop a nosebleed in that series and Mike Milbury was coaching for Boston (well, if you consider whatever he did to be coaching).

Few players would have the confidence to shoot at the empty net from where Mario did in that situation. An icing call there would have been a disaster but he could make that shot in his sleep even with a defender on him. Phil Bourque had a hell of a game too.
