This is an example of people who follow the crowd,no matter if the crowd is right or wrong,its all about being like everyone else.Have you ever wondered why otherwise intelligent people can't see what's right in front of their own faces?
Fascists and other liars know that if they can just make enough noise, they can start a stampede of public opinion which will become very hard for the average person to question.

I participated in this experiment in my highschool last year. I consider myself to be independent-minded, and I still totally went along with what everyone else was saying. I thought that I was maybe doing it wrong. I mean, it really just makes you think and reflect. It's not just unintelligent people and insecure teenagers who fall for this.

It's hard to stand up to another person when you're a 4 year old girl staring up at your aunt as she towers over you, hands on hips, a stern "you will obey or else" look in her eyes, as everyone else watches to see if you'll convert back to christianity. You know you may be denied safety, comfort, love. Your father was a pastor. Your mother's in the hospital from a psychosis. You wouldn't dare disappoint the people who birthed you and raised you. God loves good girls. CONFORM OR DIE! Okay ...

group think has incredible power over ppl. BUT I do think that it depends on age and even gender. Personally, I have very rarely gone against my own eyes/ears/logic....but that's just me. Since i was a kid.. was a non-conformist b4 i even knew the term.
