I like how black folks and dumb white folks like to tell us Southrons to "get over" the war of yankee aggression because it ended 150 years ago. Why don't we tell them that slavery ended 150 years and THEY need to get over that! @ke4bss Yes America is completely fascist. It is now controlled by corporations who are in bed with the Government. There is no distinction this is why the so called "right" and "left" are dead ends. The left goes after the corporations one side of the coin and the right the government the other side of it but they're both one and the same. We have to get rid of the whole system and start over. @ke4bss The Radical Republicans were bent on turning the US from a confederation of free sovereign republics into a single corporate nation state with puppet provinces. They wanted to totally destroy the constitution and did so irreversibly when they added the 14th amendment to it. Don't be fooled by the title everyone in the US has their civil rights protected lawfully in the body of the constitution. We must secede and get out of this mess. Davis predicted the cause would resurface.

@KentuckyThunder1863 Less than one percent of white people living in the south had an ancestor that owned a slave. People need to read history and accept it as history and stop applying it to today. We want to be free and we will always want to be free. The Corwin Amendment on the table when the south left would have legalized slavery forever as long as we continued to stay in the union and pay federal taxes and let the Republicans destroy the Constitution. Also the quote at 1:36 is wrong. The south didn't start the war the north did!!The south's cause was states rights not slavery. It was treasonous because the Constitution states that it's not illegal.

Meacham should remember that Virginia previously declared Confederate history month under the Bush and Clinton administrations. It's a stretch to say it's just a reaction to Obama when were doing the same thing before we'd even heard of Obama.
