It's been about 6 weeks since my koi came back to my renovated pond and, touch wood, no signs of New Pond Syndrome yet. Yes of course it's a start-up situation with its attendant issues, but at least I don't have pea soup opaque pond water. How? Watch the video! :-)
Really nice man i like it nice video and beautiful koi

Very good Paul...... and your system obviously works when you see your large stock of fish swimming about happily in such a short time.
Well done again...

Thanks, Sandy. Not totally out of the woods yet though. We never really are, are we? Always have to be vigilant as it only takes something small to upset the whole ecosystem.

i can imagine your pond goes through quite a bit of water change to keep it up to your standard. water comes from the tap and you condition it before it goes into the pond?

Wow, Uncle, you're fast! I just finished with the annotations! Koi should have some sunlight for healthy looking beni. Yamabukis will turn very pale if there is no sunlight, although some have successfully applied metal halides indoors. Yes, the shades are to protect the pond from rain as well as to reduce heat gain. You probably have opposite problems from what we have here!! I actually add anti chlorine/chloramine solution everytime I backflush. No prefilter as ideally I should have.
