  • and no i am not loosening my left hand grip.. should i?

  • Thank you so much! I really appreciate your advice!

And yes I will try that chair trick!

if I may ask you a question.. is it good or not to have such a long backswing? because someone say keep that backswing meanwhile others claim that i should shorten it..

the club touching my shoulder is maybe from the regular flex shatf?!!?!

    thank you again!!!

  • @flashOFmetal No you should not, some people do so unconsciously. I used to do this to lengthen my swing. I would unconsciously loosen the grip at the top to get the club back farther and then tighten the grip back up on the way down. It killed my consistency. Keeping a constant light grip pressure is very important.

  • @flashOFmetal Long backswing: essential for a long driver. Maybe not as good for accuracy which is why you see this swing on the long drive circuit but not on the pro tours. Except John Daly who has a similar swing. Look at theManXGolfer channel (in my subscriptions). He is a top golfer with a long swing. Stay long if you can, as you get older it will shorten.

The club touches your shoulder because you are extremely flexible. Flexible torso, shoulders and wrists.

  • Confirm that you are not loosening your left hand grip to get the club that far back. Swing with your butt against a chair back, that will keep your hips back and stop your head from coming up thru impact. These two things will help your consistency. It looks like you have lots of club speed, so just work on making center square contact. That will increase your ball speed.

    Lycka till!

  • That is the longest swing I have ever seen. I downloaded it and watched it in slow motion with the VLC player. The shaft actually bounces off of your left shoulder at the top of the backswing. The club is pointing to the left of the ball! If you could get your head to stay down and back, you've got a long driver swing going. I've never seen anyone take the club back anywhere close to that far. I know a couple of guys who hit it 340ish and their swings aren't nearly that long.
