ALL NEW! Embedded in the closing credits of this special are promos for the CBS Friday Lineup of Family Matters and Step By Step, Which were odd to see on CBS... I thought they fit in much better on ABC. The ill-fated move started to fade the following month when Family Matters was put on hiatus until the summer. The clip ends with a Christmas plug for Eckerd (Which has also faded into oblivion)...

  • Lineup for December 5, 1997

8:00pm- Winnie the Pooh & Christmas Too!

9:00pm- Family Matters: Original Gangsta Dawg *New*

9:30pm- Step by Step: Goodbye, Mr. Chip *New*

  • FM and SBS switched networks because, if I recall right, ABC had sold them to CBS in early 1997 so the latter could have appropriate enough shows for their short-lived CBS Block Party. CBS bought both shows for about $40 million after Miller-Boyett Prod. felt pessimistic about staying on ABC after it was purchased by Disney around the beginning of FM and SBS' 8th and 6th seasons, respectively. So that explains why those two shows moved to CBS.

A ton of information, I know, but it's true.
