Autodesk is making me crazy.. They are still adding and adding useless many features to our legendary 3dmax! why new render engines? We have vray! why new filters? we have photoshop! Have you checked sketchup lately? Do they really think people using mudbox? they have Zbrush! And if i want real time render i use lumion not max..Now , sit down, brainstorm, All you need is better interaction with these programs.dont try to put every crappy idea that you have in your mind in 3dmax.

why do i have to click "configure" just to change visual style arrrggg.

they are the same package
however
the 3ds design doesn not include de SDK ( software developer kit) which is basically an app within the max to develop propietary plugins mainly used by film industry and game developers to mold the softwre to their needs
with that said
unless you plan on developing plugins design its a good choice
its a favorite among us architechts bcz simply put its cheaper and gets the job done all the same

i really hope u don't include that cheap filters in the final version. Is really a waste of ui, resources , etc. Don't just bloat the program with crap features.

But why do you wanna be able to apply such ugly filters. Even if someone thought it was cool I bet they have much more control over it in any postproduction package.
A rather useless gimmick so we can get grandpa and uncle eric to buy max as well.
