It always surprises me how different The Fireman stuff is compared to Paul's usual work, but what surprises me more is just how well it works. I absolutely love this song! Paul has this wonderful knack to make a beautiful piece of music out of seemingly nothing at all... it's fantastic. I hope he's still writing, composing, and touring for many healthy years to come. Keep up the amazing work, Paul! You're looking and sounding fantastic these days!
Blah blah blah, John is better than Paul, Paul is better than John, blah blah blah.
Guys, we all know the truth: both Lennon and McCartney have some good solo music, but they never wrote anything alone that was a fraction as good as the stuff they wrote when they were in the same band as each other. Even when they weren't writing together, their Beatle-era stuff is so much better than the solo stuff that I would happily lose the solo stuff if it meant I got to keep the rest.
This song is amazing,.this record is fabuluos...and once again the master made a masterpiece..he re-invented himself as a ficticuos character and took a quantum leap foward as an artist,.. a trick he invented in the Beatles ..When they did sgt. Pepper..Hats off to Macca
