I noticed that one of your tags was Hendrix. It sounds like you have a major scooped mid sound too. You might be interested to know that Jimi always kept his mids up pretty high. Try cranking your mids sometime, see if it works for you

How do you do bends like that, to make your strat wail? I've been working on it all evening.

just playing random stuff to show the dynamics..

to wail like that..i don't know but you can try pre bend and rake the pick thru the muted strings then pick the note at the highest point of the bend I hope that helps
