First stages of building the rudder of a light aircraft shot in timelapse over 5 hours. Next the rudder will be disassembled, de-burred, cleaned, acid etched, primed, mating parts coated with duralac, skeleton riveted together and finally skinned then fitted to the fuselage.

  • Cool! You're pretty energetic - what kind of coffee are you drinking, dude? At the rate you're going you'll be flying by tomorrow.

    I take it that's a Zenair STOL CH 701 rudder you're building (?)

  • no it's a 601 I think they're very similar though, good guess!

  • Hi. I was wondering if when building a plane do you have to acid etch? Also what is skinning?
