These are mostly jingles from KOMA, Oklahoma City, recorded around 1999-2001.

  • I use to listen to KOMA on my clock radio at night in bed when I was a teenager, and it wasn't an oldies station then it was a top 40 station. It iwas a powerful radio station that reached out far and wide at night. The sound of this really brings back some memories.

  • I used to listen to KOMA a lot in the morning before I went to work at the radio station (the first clip on here is from 4:59 AM!...no more of that early morning stuff now hehe)

It along with KVOO are now talk formats unfortunately (although KOMA-FM may still be oldies)

  • The calls KOMA.. and it was an oldies station..hmmm one can only imagine the jokes that were made by those who not into the oldies. And KBOO, another interesting Call.

    Great collection of jingles there.

  • Thanks! It is actually KVOO although it does sound a lot like KBOO. I think it has changed its call letters since then though and changed to a talk format.

  • don't like what's happened to KOMA, now its just greatest hits... what the heck?? its been part of my growing up in NE Colorado to listen to 1520 AM..

  • KOMA Listen Live is great, but there are no more 50s hits!! Email Kent Jones and tell him you want 50s back on the air!!

  • @Jantv81 KOMA AM 1520 is now a talk radio show, and their FM is an oldies station, and they do stream.

  • @maynardcat Does KOMA stream anymore? I want to hear them again!!

  • Close. But that's not the jingle I remember first hearing that summer night out on the driveway diggin KOMA with my big sisters in our family's 57 Chevy station wagon-- clear up in Kansas, when I was about five.

Only came on at dark, playing top 40/contemporary rock, which is now all classic rock.

I really miss those days-- dragging Main, hanging at drive-in restaurants/drive-in movies-- and KOMA on in the background-- up through the 70s when FM killed it and the rest of AM rock and roll.

  • KOMA at 1520 KHz and WKY at 930 Hz battled it out in Oklahoma City for top station during the 1950s. You could hear KOMA all up through Kansas and Nebraska into the Dakotas telling us where "Spider and the Crabs" were playing next.

  • that KXTN cut you're referring to, i have that top-of-hour! sounds awesome! especially at the end where san antonio's sung! rocks!

  • Of all the radio stations I've listened to over the years, I think KOMA had the best of jingles.

  • @MichaelJGrant impressive!

  • I grew up listening to KOMA and since I lived in NE Colorado, we could only listen to it after dark. I will never forget KOMA and love these classic jingles. AM 1520 and 92.5 FM. Yours TRULY.... KOMA
