The Execution Scene - an excerpt from the well-known opera "Snow in Midsummer". Widow DouEr is framed for the murder of a rich merchant who coveted her. She is sentenced to death. Escorted to the execution ground, she bemoans her ill fate, and declares her innocence. Her mother-in-law comes to bid goodbye. Widow Dou says that even heaven will weep at this miscarriage of justice, for when she is executed, it will snow though it is the height of summer.
The manipulation of those extra long watersleeves, and the twirling of her hair adding to the imagery of her anguished heart. And of course that gloriously majestic Teochew Drum & Gong music accompaniment.
Huadan 蔡晓华 (Bronze medalist - 6th GuangDong Province Opera Competition) as Widow DouEr; displaying her mastery of the extra-length watersleeve..
The ChaoYang Teochew Opera Company 潮 阳 潮 剧 团 of China performing at the Kreta Ayer Peoples' Theatre, Singapore on 30th July 2011 (Final day of their 9-day engagement). Sponsored by the Ngee Ann Kongsi 義安公司 and ChaoYang Teochew Clan Association 潮阳会馆.

Not bad. But Zhang Yihuang's rendition of this excerpt is still the best.
