sm57 and shures in general are good for voice, but if you want something for instruments as well, go for an electro voice ND267, those work good for everything, they have a wider frequency range than a 57 or 58

i got a Shure Sm57 mic myself, but what did you record this with? Or did you just use the line out into your soundcard?

This was recorded using my electroacoustic and amplified using my guitar port audio interface and the gearbox plugin. I'd like to buy a mic at some stage, would you reccomend an SM57?
