@JessaCita When he was growing up, Guy's parents lived on a macrobiotic diet. That's probably why. I just found that out about ten minutes ago though, so I'm just as newly impressed :)

Blue Plate diner is great. I like the vegan burger but their portabello hummus sandwich (also vegan) is even better!

@JessaCita A good chef knows there is no difference in cooking veg or cooking non veg its al about the taste, look and the end result ;)!

Surprising to see a vegetarian platter but it's interesting to see how he sometimes covers European cuisine on this show.

ahhhhh! that looks so amazing. ive been a vegetarian for 2 years and i admire and respect Guy's open mindedness (is that a word?) lol and also his knowledge is great. i hate how evry1 just thinks a veggie burger is a "salad on a bun". but they just dont know what theyre missing...and plus i live in a small town in sc. so its like carnivore city. lol.

Wow, that actually made me like Guy a little more... I'm very surprised he was so open-minded about a vegan burger - and that he called it "dynamite" & that he'd order it again "in a heartbeat." He just seems so crazy for meat normally. Good for him! :)
Also, I think maybe the cook was just shy - not disinterested or rude. Some people are just not naturals in front of the camera. He could have been nervous!
