On September 21, 2006, 9 people attempted to visit Senator Gordon Smith's office to insist that he co-sponsor legislation to end the US military occupation of Iraq and sign the 'Declaration of Peace.' Police and building security barred them from going in, then charged them with trespassing after they sat down and refused to move.
Your sentiments are probably closer in line to apathetic citizens of an authoritarian regime, and by this date, 4 years into the iraq war - this cliché you give as a comment is tired and boring. If our leaders are not listening to the people, then they have a right - in fact, a duty, to participate in civil disobedience. mmmmnnkay?
