  • in Syria Mate is very popular because alot of Syrians emigrated to Argentina and brought back this wonderful drink to Syria

  • @estanislaovinsennau En guaraní se llama ka'ay, siendo ka'a: ‘hierba’, e y: ‘agua’[1] a la infusión preparada con hojas de yerba mate (Ílex paraguaiensis), planta originaria de las cuencas de los ríos Paraná, Paraguay y el curso superior del Uruguay-. Estas plantas previamente secadas, cortadas y molidas forman la yerba mate y quedó como parte del acervo cultural en Argentina, Bolivia, Brasil, Chile, Paraguay y Uruguay, países en donde se consume mayoritariamente..

  • @FaisalQ500 Haha, the taste is very strong the first time, some people spit the first sip and then drink the second, because all the dust is on the first one (my grandma does that). You can always add sweetener or sugar to the water or the Mate!!, that makes it soooo much good. I personally hate bitter Mate!!

  • @FaisalQ500 "Yerba Mate" is the name of the plant itself, and "elaborada con palo" means it contains the plant's stem (the white cylindrical pieces).
