The Glorified Docent

The Glorified Docent was an evening of screenings of bootlegged art films (including Matthew Barney, Paper Rad, Shirin Neshat, etc.), with live commentary from guest "critics," based on the structure of Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K), the American cult television comedy series that aired from 1988 to 1999. The critics remained anonymous, with only their silhouettes visible as they delivered spontaneous "Siskel & Ebert from Hell" rants on what they were watching. Guest critics included Art Fag City, David Coggins, Bill Cole, Steve Dumain, the Eh-Team, Sarah Hromack, Lady Rizo, and Nathan Shafer.
