As much as I love this song, I have to be annoyed by Disney movies' emphasis on the role of the father in forming your identity. No one ever seems to be disturbed by the absence of their mother-you don't hear Jasmine telling Aladdin "I understand how you feel, I lost my mother." Rather, Aladdin's loss of his father appears to trump anything Jasmine may have suffered, with the ostensible reasoning of "she has her father, so she can't possibly understand what it's like to grow up without a parent"

The lyrics are a little simplistic, but for someone who's father has been absent in their lives, I can assure you, this song strikes a chord. A very deep, emotional one. Definite kudo's for it being on your list of good Disney songs.

Crying as soon as it starts!

I find the instrumental score great in this song...now if only the lyrics didn't sound so bland.

I loooove this song! Oh my goodness :')

@bella7060 Jasmine's voice never changed. It was always voiced by Linda Larkin. Unlike the first movie where Lea Salonga is her singing voice was taken over by Liz Callaway in the sequels.

Is Jasmine voiced by the person as she is voiced in the first two?
-
who sand Jasmine's part? :D

Most under-rated disney song I have ever heard! I usually don't like Disney Sequels or prequels but this one was awesome! It could've been so much more if the animation studios at Disney decided to animate it. Nonetheless, AMAZING!
One of my favorites too! I've never been able to explain why really.. I've just always liked the emotion behind it.
