The top 20 South African wrestlers of 2009 video. This year I decided to change the Top 16 to a Top 20 due to the level of talent in South Africa worth noting. As usual, I actively follow the South African wrestling scene and this list is based on who I viewed as being in their respective positions according to the following summarised grading:
-Must have been regularly active on the South African wrestling scene during the year and born in South Africa.
-How active the wrestler was.
-Level of skill and quality of work.
-Accomplishments and quality of opponents.
Last year's Top 16 video saw current WWE wrestler Justin Gabriel (PJ Black) - who was born in Cape Town, South Africa - placed in the number one position because of his incredible 2008 run in WWP. Since then he has won the FCW territory's Florida Heavyweight Championship and is highly likely to be drafted to the main WWE brands soon. Another WWE developmental signee of South African birth, Ray Leppan, was signed last year and is about to make his debut in FCW. Please refer to my channel for more on these great wrestlers and subscribe for regular updates/news/matches!
If you would like to know more, drop me a message in my Youtube inbox. You will not receive an immediate answer but I will get to you eventually. Thank you for watching this video and remember, this wrestling channel is dedicated to the great and largely overlooked South African pro wrestlers who deserve more attention than they usually get from international fans. I will continue to do what I do out of passion and hope you spread the word about South African wrestling!
great video however the list numbering of the stars are inaccurate, try update and include justin gabriel as no.1 and ray leppan as number 2, revy looks cool as jeff hardy

@TheRejectedManiac Read the description first. There's a reason I excluded Kruger and Gabriel - simply because they were not active in South Africa during that year. Justin Gabriel had departed the South African scene in late 2008 while Kruger was inactive for many months until his FCW debut. However, this year I will be introducing a video, Top 3 Native South African Wrestlers Overseas, which will encompass those grand wrestlers.
