Legendary WWE jobbers Duane "Gillberg" Gill and Barry Hardy wrestled for Maryland Championship Wrestling in the later 1980's/early 1990's. Together they formed the team "The Lords of Darkness" who were managed by "Pretty Boy" Larry Sharpe. When they worked together in the WWE, they used a variation of this gimmick and called themselves "The Executioners" donning black masks. In fact, on the very first Monday Night RAW The Executioners took on the Steiner Brothers to open up the program. Here is a very retro 1980's style music video from the Maryland Championship Wrestling TV Promo. If you look closely you will see a chubby Axel Rotten taking a bump in red tights!
shows what they could have done if only vince had given thema chance.
