Johnny Rushmore : variation on a theme ( Dimeola/McLaughlin)

Improv on a Acoustic D-28 Martin Glue on neck ( NO bolt on ) medium gauge set 13-58 Jimmy's old town tavern last night Wednesday open mic night 9:30 PM 8-27-08 . Martin guitars are still the best acoustic guitars from a traditional guitar company better than the Taylors as far as sound is concerened -however there are some custom brands out there Like McPherson that are challenging Martin with innovative designs for projection and volume yet Martin guitars are the standard by which all other acoustic guitars are judged and either the other makers fall short of their mark or challenge them as tone master Acoustic guitars . This D-28 sells for about 3200.00 dollars and is set up for traditional bluegrass with a bone saddle and nut on Indian rosewood back and sides .It also has an Indian rosewood finger board which is unusual since they mostly have ebony fretboards on them ! I like the Rosewoods tone better but ebony is slightly louder and/or brighter .

Nice work. I really like this haunting and worldly sound, and I agree that Martins rock. Would you say that a 1961 Martin acoustic with a top that's rotting underneath and around the pick guard will cost me some dough? haha.

The top is rotting ?! Ouch ! Take it and have it restored if possible ? Martin knows what to do bro . on fixing it ! They are the best acoustic guitar company in the world .

Excellent-if I can get Pete to glue on the limba bouts this week ?!I have to rout out the channels for the brass reinforcement/sustain rods but I can not until the Bouts are glued on !
