If it is so great, why did you have to buy votes to force this on the American people?

This vote which had to be "bought" is very sad... It is very sad that the people will is no longer represented and that your party could not get one Republican vote... You couldn't even get all the votes of your own party; so you bribed them to get the vote through... I hope you're proud of yourself. You did not represent the People!!! I would rather have an incompetent government bureaucrat make decisions for my health care than have a corporate employee making the decisions. The corporate employee has an incentive to deny coverage. The government bureaucrat does not. I am an American tired of watching greedy rich people ruin this nation. It's time for a major change. Tax all income above $1M at the rate of 100% to pay for a national health care system for all citizens.

You are an so very wrong Sen. Specter. With the public option, or the government plan hospitals and other providers will be reimbursed on pennys on the dollar (see medicare reimbursements). As a result hospitals can not afford to operate at their minimal reimbursement now, look at the number of hospitals closing across this state. Medicare payments make up approximately 45-55% of a hospitals revenue, and if you were to only pay using the "Medicare Model" then you will be reducing our quality.

With all this being said, I understand why all the doctors recommend becoming a Physical Training Technician, Nurse, Ad, or Doctor. Because the people are OVERWORKED AND UNDERPAID ALREADY and taxes and ALL TYPES OF INSURANCE ARE SKYROCKETING! How can anyone ONE PERSON create their own business if they can't afford coverage? What a joke.

I feel your concern as the House is being controlled by the Democratic Party. I wish luck that this irons out for the best for all. Now say the person has a criminal record, that is another bias on top of the bias of having a disability and yet when they retrain for a new job, they are denied because of these biases.

However, if a certain wound heals (for example a torn ligament, broken leg, dislocation) and the patient goes through massive amounts of physical therapy, which they need health insurance to cover, and they heal, they still need to be able to buy more health insurance for possible future injuries. Think of sports or repetitive hard labor jobs were injuries are high risk. A person needs to be able to afford these coverages at the same time.
