Cool video, I sheared in the Miles City Bucking horse sale shearing contest on that same platform. It was my first year shearing and i was kinda nervous so I placed 4th in the beginners. I have also sheared with one of the judges in the back.

It is pretty nerve racking shearing infront of a large crowd - say a couple of hundred more sets of eyes on you than in your average wool shed!
My left leg goes like jelly when stepping over for the long blow!!

Good job on the 2nd place. I shear along the Mid-Atlantic and always thought about doing a competition but never did. I was at NWSS for Livestock Judging,...maybe I'll have to make a road trip out for the shearing competition. Good video!

Thanks for watching. I don't shear myself, lest you thought I had taken second place. I enjoyed the competition that day and have a healthy respect for the strength and endurance sheep shearing requires.

Thanks for watching. I don't shear myself but found the competition impressive. The announcer said a full day shearing is about equivalent to a double marathon. I enjoyed your piece as well.
