Nick Hudson ('Hierocles') @ The Brighton Ballroom 31 Aug 2010

Nick Hudson was the first of two support acts that night for Zola Jesus (the second being 'Jacob's Stories'). Love the contrast between the plaintive, yearning & in my opinion comparatively traditional English-sounding main verse sections, as against the beautiful sonorously dark minor key passages in what I'd consider the choruses @ "When my eyes are covered...", lending the song some kind of off-kilter mittel-European nightmarish fairytale feel here I reckon. My gratitude to 'Luggagerecords' for kindly confirming the title of this song (after my appeal for assistance in that regard).

@NickHudsonMusic You won't be impressed to learn I've tried 5 times since your message to upload the next song I recorded from your set that night, but my broadband connection's too erratic (taking 4 hours to upload). Took 8 goes to upload 'Hierocles'! Will persevere, but I confess I've been really busy both at work and on domestic front over last few months. BTW I've also recorded 'In Crow Robes' and 'Matthiano', but please could you confirm title of song with chorus "To never be on his own'?
