I used this animation for the end credits of my review on the Wacom Bamboo Tablet. It was created with the open source application Blender. Head to http://glenndusting.com/2009/04/26/blender-fluid-simulation-explosion/ if you'd like more detail on how i put this animation together

  • the exploding of the logo is kinda wierd but the fluid i awesome man.

  • Thanks. I agree with you about the logo. The effect was caused by the way Blender creates faces when converting text to a mesh. Next time I'll just model the letters from scratch when I need to do special effects.

  • Can blender do the refraction properly for clear liquids?

  • I believe it can, it would just depend on the material settings. I cannot give a more definitive answer as I am still relatively new to Blender. You could try asking in one of the forums at blenderartists

  • Thanks for the answer. I'm having a go at python in blender. The possibilities seem endless.

  • Cool! I wish the glass wasn't levitating though! Love the water! ;D

  • Meh
