  • Jimmy Blanton on this list is a mistake, since he died in 1942....... besides there is a tenor sax playing.... not Carney. And the correct name is Ray Nance, not rat!

  • ...thanks for putting this up....This was the "bumper" theme music for Chicago disc jockey Al Benson on radio station WGES from 1950 till 1962. He played doo wop and early R&B and was one one of the first black disc jockeys who did not try to sound "white"...He used his own dialect and street slang. The white kids loved his "jive talking" and blacks loved him because "he sounds just like us"...he was a pioneer.....
