Jane Maienschein of Arizona State University is a former Congressional Fellow and Senior Science Advisor. She debunks the common idea that stem cell science began in 1998 and maintains that stem cell science is actually nearly a century old. History may provide lessons for researchers and the public concerned about the social, political, and religious status of the embryo. Professor Maienschein's talk was part of UC Santa Barbara's popular New Visions of Nature, Science, and Religion initiative. Series: "New Visions" [1/2008] [Health and Medicine] [Science] [Show ID: 13267]

  • Highly Scholarly! Nice to note that it's a collaborative effort of humanists, scientists and social scientists. The focus are on issues that are key and unresolved. Nice job people!
