  • @royalnavy200 these sailors would have kicked your arses.

  • WOW! That guy moved his foot just in time! Thanks for these my dad was also in the Fleet Air Arm and also did his last trip on HMS Eagle, Although I think it was before this.

  • the video is Warship Eagle and was made for the BBC.You can sometimes get it on the internet.

You can see some home movies of Eagle 67/68 on the faaba site.

  • Having played drums on this clip, we were a bit dissapointed with finished article. We did however get a recording contract in Singers where acoustics were MUCH better.

  • Some hard lookin jacks!!! Great vid!! Great Memories

  • great video and music and tattoos! I was lucky to visit Eagle when she was at Istanbul in 1958...made a friend and we've visited them often in Wilts...

thanks for putting this here at YT!

  • Great clip, thank you for putting it up, if you have any more it would be great to see them.

  • very good video, i was on both eagle and ark, the last commissions, eagle was by far the best, ark was well knackered, mind you when we ran aground on the eagle it did it no favours

  • ahh if you were around at the time maybe you can confirm that Eagle had more service life left in her than ark royal when she was decommissioned in 1972 and if the decision to phantomise her instead of Ark Royal had been made it would have been likely to have seen Eagle serving well into the 80's?

that would be an alternative history lesson, RN wouldn't have given up conventional carriers if they'd had one in 1982.

    - Alex.
