I understand why they build this car, but its capabilities dont exceed what we already have, for example it doesnt out do a jetta diesel in gas mileage,

buddy, it's 33 K... but then add in government subsidies and State subsidies (depending on where you live) it can drop as low as 21K....that's about how much everyone pays for a regular car. STFU

This will not change shit unless the technology becomes cheap enough for everyone to have one. If only 40 out of 100 people are not assholes, thats still 60 assholes that are there fucking shit up.

wasjunk, yes, you are wrong. If everyone had a pure EV (worse then everyone having a Volt) then we would have 80% capacity NOW as long as everyone charged at night. So, this is a non-issue since adoption will be slower. Batter should be better then 70% capacity after 10 years of use. Cost will be under $30k. Volt as fewer moving parts because it has no transmission. Engine gets much less wear because electric mode hands most driving.

f overnight everyone had one these vehicles how many more power stations would have to be built to supply power? how do they dispose of a bank of expired batteries?, how much/how often do batteries need to be replaced? cost? ,internal combustion engine ,electric motor, electric solenoids, regenerative brakeing,more complexity, down the track more to go wrong and cost, or am i wrong? many unanswered questions.,,,,,,,thnx fo the next VEGA

You would service the same as any car. Oil changes when needed. The electric part of the car needs no servicing.
