Faye may have had a crush on Spike but I think those feelings are transient. What she wanted most, Spike could never give her. This, of course, is pure speculation on my part. I'm not totally set in my ideas about Faye.

Frankly, Spike has never shown the slightest interest in Faye. Even if he were able to get over his past and fallen in love again, I don't in a million years think that it would be with Faye. There will be people who disagree strongly with me there but I hold to my opinion. ;)

Maybe you're reason, but I would have seen Spike getting over his past ;) I don't like Julia too much. IMHO She's a kind of ghost, not a real person; she appears sometimes during the serie and Spike is captured but she's not real. It's just my opinion, of course, I know that many people loves her! (sorry for my english ;) )

Julia is a "Ghost" of Spikes past. Kind of like the phrase "the past comes back to haunt you" which is the case with spike. Julia IS REAL like all the characters back stories, but this series isn't about reconnecting with the past. It is about learning to move on when you lose the things that mean most to you. Each character has the power to free themselves if they can learn to let go, but they all refuse to let go.

he is strongly attracted to her. he knows he would've loved her in another life, another time. but in this, spike's irrevocably committed to his course - defeating the red dragons, confronting vicious, redeeming himself and julia.

too much blood, too many tears shed for it to be any other way, but he sees faye as the sweet, innocent girl in the video underneath the tough exterior. and he can at least save her by not letting her get involved. i think it shows how he really feels about her.

I think not only Julia is a ghost. Most of the chars are just a shadow of what they was.
