I thought you were going to include how you opened up the camera and installed the chip and how you placed the button.
Of course, you can simply use the "Sunny 16" rule instead and either under/over expose as needed. I think, ultimately, this is a lot faster than the above method.
It is same picture like D700 only with double less megapixels.If you not zoom too much normal picture is for my taste better than D700.Sharper clearer vivider.

Compare picture's with D700 and you will
find that D40 is only for beginners in PRICE.Not in quality of pictures.
