This is part 1 of 1 of the local Baltimore Fox station covering the 1997 Hemispherectomy Conference & Reunion, sponsered by the Rasmussen's Support Network. Children, who had undergone Hemispherectomy Brain Surgery came from all over America to reunite, discuss, support each other, and learn. These children had intractible seizures from diseases such as Rasmussen's Encephalitis, Sturge-Weber Syndrome, Hemimegalencephaly, Cortical Dysplasia, and Pediatric Stroke. For more information on Hemispherectomy, go to www.hemifoundation.org .
I've had seizures for almost five years and I am lucky that I don't have as many seizures as I used to.

Thanks for posting this... this surgery was done to me when I was 12 right before Christmas. It is now almost 8 years I have been seizure free!
