Servo operated 3Racing winch

I didn't want to spend the money on a new radio and I wanted to use my new winch without having to puch the button manually. So I set the control plate so that I could install an auxilliary servo to hit the button for me. It will take some getting used to but I think it will work out pretty good.

will this work for a tq traxxas controller?

If you have the TQ3, You can modify the 3rd channel to use a 3 position switch and you would not need to do this, If you have the TQ 2 channel it won't work.

can't you just hook it op to the third channel of the dx3.0

Yes, But the 3rd channel on the DX3.0 is not a 3 position channel. So you would have to use your trims to run it out and back in, Not to easy to control accurately. While this is also kind of a pain, it beats buying a new radio.

idk if this has been covered yet but you didnt have to do this bud i ended up getting a traxxis controller that had the 4 channels and the controller had a 3 way switch on the front of it which hooked up easily and works great with the winch.

no knockin ya this is kinda clever but before id fumble around with this servo idea. i would have just gotten the new controller. its not like the one ya got cant go to something else down the line.

@wildcardco1998 hi there for the servo did u put a long screw in the middle like i did and i used a cheap walgerrns rc car and took the guts out of it and it works pertty good i got the servo from a flash rc tunner from taget

lol one time when ur going in ur servo fails and u keep going in and burn up ur winch... just saying its possible

@wildcardco1998 i wanna get the axial scx10 tr with a 3racing winch and so it operatyes and i want to put my traxxas electronics on it but how will that work out because the crystals would be diffrent and stuff then a 3 channel radio that i would buy along with the winch and stuff u know what im saying im confused because i want to make a plow and i can use a winch to lift it up and down u know?

oke i also have a dx3.0 and i also would like to put this winch on a scx-10 scaler but maybe i would have a go with your trick but doesn't it mes up the switch on the esc from the winch
