My grandfather had 50 years with CNR and my uncle 42. Both worked in Winnipeg. One in city yards behind the station and the other in Symington. Both were engineers. My grandfather retired in 72. Thanks for a great look into the CNR.

This video is a treasure!

Are any of these units still in operation? I doubt it. That would be 40 years ago.

Thank you so much for uploading this. My father's family is from New Carlisle and my Grandfather, two Great Uncles and their fathers before the worked for CN of Quebec Oriental. This is a great shot of the line. I will definatly show this to my grandfather when I travel from PEI to see him in two weeks. THank you.

Gotta love F units wearing zebra stripes.

What a wonderful video! I love this.
A view of a day when people still knew the importance of the railway in New Brunswick. Alas, I live near Fredericton and to see a train around here is not possible anymore.
Sad...

My favorite railway in the best location. Thanks so much for sharing. I just wish we could do that ride from Montreal to Campbellton in the daylight.
Sure brings back memories, i hired on in Campbellton NB in 1974 as an operator and worked most of these stations in the Matapedia Valley and the Gaspe Coast, and of course (KS), i might be dispatching that part of the railway in a few months as apparently CN bought back the Piece of track.
