As I posted in Kicesie, that's the French situation. It's called the Pacs. However there's a fairly active group of Gays that are unsatisfied, and put pressure during elections and want it called marriage with no difference.

This aggressive attitude proves the goal is not "same rights" but "rewrite the terminology".

So it is needed to be made clear by law, that apart the financial advantages and obligations between each other, marriage and what is to be called else, ARE DIFFERENT.

I know, but that's just a minimum to seek from the people with the least flexible beliefs (least loving?). I'm not as idealistic as I was 10 years ago, but it's still worth striving for wider understanding of issues like this so that lots of people can become accepting, or better, of differences.

pushing on you? we are over-populated. if the human race died out because of lack of procreation it wouldnt mean more people dying and suffering than before. just no new births. it wouldnt hurt anyone at all.

saying that, we wouldnt live much past 30-50 without advances of modern science and you wouldnt be sat at the computer. i dont suppose most people would need it pointed out that he wasnt recruiting gays or trying to turn others gay, and he couldnt turn the whole world gay if he wanted to!

exactly. people are so caught up about the relationship part. what is a relationship? 2 people. people have the right to love, marry, not get beat up, etc etc... so how does marriage make a person=a hamster all of a sudden?

Well, it's true. Not that long ago it was a huge issue for a white woman to marry a black man. Back then it was an "affront to marriage", just like gay marriage is described by some people today. Now, for the most part, interracial couples are no big deal. I live down the street from one, and they've never had any problems. Hopefully this trend will continue and in a few years gay marriage won't be a problem either. That is, if people like mle011 shut up.

I'm sorry, but marrying your DOG is nowhere NEAR the same as marrying someone who you truly love with all your heart, albeit if they are of the same sex as you. I can't believe you would even make that connection. That's horrible. How is it that someone is putting their "be" on you by getting married? Are straight people doing that by marrying? No. So how are same-sex couples? Just please, don't profile human beings, no matter what their life style preference, as ANIMALS. That's just heinous.
