We took our cat to the vet every year, he was a barn cat who was diagnosed with chronic toxoplasmosis at about 11 years old. He lived to be 23.

In any case, another of my cats also had feline acne,

wash it once a day with soap and water and treat it with a moisturizer with 1-2% benzoyl peroxide. If the cat scratches at it a lot and causes open sores you can use neosporin to keep it from getting infected.

That said if it does get infected, take it to the vet.

I'm washing my cat's chin every night with soap and water ... I hope this works (seems to be getting better). Her food and water dish are ceramic. She is a notoriously bad groomer though. Her chin, chest, and belly are always a bit oily.

My cat has a small infection on her chin, but due to her age (18), my mom refuses to take her in, and I don't have any money to my name. But from everything I've read, it seems like cat acne, and so I'm treating it with some antibiotic creme. I hope it works!

I think my indigo does some have gone away from being back on top of the bowl cleaning for water and food even though they are not plastic bowls.
