Drum cover of Hang On Sloopy a song by the pop group The McCoys, featuring Ric Derringer, which was #1 in America in October 1965.

It was rumored that the great session drummer Bernard "Pretty" Purdie played drums on the session and was instructed to play like someone who was an amateur.

From the "One-Hit-Wonder" series of drum covers.

Rick Derringer was still playing the song live with Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band in November, 2011, though I didn't hear it when I saw the band in 2010.

  • Awesome, but I would LOVE to see you play on a acoustic kit!

  • @AlterBridge11 ...and if you were here on the Pacific Coast of northern California you could catch me playing an acoustic kit most Friday nights with my jazz band.
