Tufts doesn't have a tiny endowment. But it's pretty small compared to many other Massachusetts schools (Harvard, MIT, BC, Williams, Amherst). Tufts does not have an Ivy quality education, better than most schools, but not even close to an ivy!

I don't know what these kids meant about not having a large endowment. I'm pretty sure Tufts has an enormous one. The reason you pay so much in tutition is because the teachers there are almost all researchers and get large salaries for being at the top of there field, and secondly cause they're building a ton of new stuff in the middle of Boston. You also get an education that ranks with the Ivies in reputation amongst professionals and academics.
