Zacharie has been living for nearly a month in our little 'cat' house out front of our place. I've added a heat lamp to provide a bit of relief from the cold at night. On the 19th of Dec. I finally decided to take some video footage of our homeless friend. Although I'd like to bring him inside, we simply can't (in fact we'd also like to adopt out a couple of recent rescues too). Although I try and reassure myself that these minimal steps are a comfort to him, I know that many cats (especially those abandoned by their guardians) do not last long, especially when forced to endure the winter. The visible scars that cover Zacharie's lower back attest to this difficult struggle. Though his health has improved, I no he has been lucky as the weather has been unusually mild. If you may know of someone who lives in or around the Toronto area and would be interested in fostering Zacharie, or possibly adopting one of our cats (Jonas)please contact us at:

  • Sadly, a few days after the new year he suddenly disappeared and we don't have a clue what could of happened...I have this feeling that a neighborhood cat may have drove him away, as another regular visitor, David-Noah, had also not shown up for several days...it is upsetting cause Zacharie was in pretty rough shape but slowly getting better...

  • He's a very shy cat and not used to humans at all, he's almost certainly feral rather than homeless. That is to say he's lived his entire life in the wild.

I imagine he moved on somewhere. Don't take it too hard.

  • the moment u came to guive him food he just moved on that alone shows his opinion towards humans with lucky u can change that

  • is the cat getting close to you now or what?

  • ...I think im going to cry D:

  • you are a kind and great person.

may GOD give us courage and passion to help all these poor animals.

  • Oh, bless you for helping Zach. It was a lot you did for him, plus he knew you cared about him, and was thriving. I know of cats where I live that totally live outside with little houses and small heat pads or lamps like you provided and seem to live on and on, that is until other predators or bullys come around, and that is a problem, but it can be handled some of the time. I know its not ideal, but some cats only want to be outside too.

  • its so so so so so so cute!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Beautiful cat! <3
