There are probably lots of good gun safety videos out there (I didn't check) but here's mine. I feel compelled to add it to my listings for those just learning about weapons handling. And even the most experienced gun handlers call become careless and do something stupid. Never take a gun for granted and treat it with great respect (not fear just respect). Some of my views, like teaching your young children about gun safety, might be controversial but I've proven them over many years. Satisfy their curiosity, train them, set and enforce safety expectations and you'll have no problems. Everyone in your house should be trained thoroughly in the gun's use and safe handling. Coupled with the standard safe handling and storage principles, this will help you avoid a regretful and most likely tragic accidental discharge.

  • Question - in a place such as a gun store, where would be the safest direction to keep the gun pointed?

  • @bonkersbananas2010 This is a pet peeve with me. I find that keeping a gun pointed down (as in downward, towards the floor) to be no problem at all, but I have never been in a gun store that followed that simple procedure. I'm always ducking and weaving in gun stores due to customers, and even sales persons, waving guns around. Unloaded or not, it just makes me uncomfortable. -- Veri

  • Your right, but bb guns and air soft can hurt or kill. Just saying. Should treat them the same way.

  • love this gun safety video.grew up in a home with guns and they were not taboo.we learned safety.i went out into the "world" and almost became scared of guns ,due to the miss handling i saw around me.every person that chooses to own needs to pass on the responsibility .thanks NUTNFANCY!

  • @crplll exactly. NRA rules say that if it's a firearm, you always follow the same rules. a firearm is something that uses high pressure gas to expel a projectile out of a barrel. so, basically, you are dead right, those toys are still firearms, still dangerous

  • I've never owned a gun until about 3 weeks ago and right from the start I know gun safety, because it's really just common sense

  • i finally got what your name is its "nothin fancy" wow im slow..

  • Nice little video. I live in a state that is officially terrified of all guns. My own father was afraid to let up even see the few guns he owned (war prizes BTW) and so we never were taught gun safety at home at all. The result: more people who grew up afraid of guns and convinced that guns are why there is violent crime. I know better now - better late than never!

Teach your kids about guns, even if you don't own one. They will be safer for it.

    Nice video.

  • My dad has made me watch this 100 times. Even when my friends are over he thinks it's cool to put it on.
