No, I speak of your Christian cult, no matter the sect. Next you will claim the Ku Klux Klan was not a wholly Christian organization. Christians used the bible to condemn interracial relationships of any kind. It's become convenient however, since it was made legal despite rigorous religious opposition, to now pretend your cult had nothing to do with denying interracial marriage. You and your ilk are despicable!

"What they want is to be able to PROFESS THEIR HOMOSEXUALITY to all those around them as if it's some badge of honor. "
You mean just how you "profess" your disgusting ignorance and bigotry as if it's some badge of honor?
No, they only want to not fear being discharged from a career they love in serving their country just because of their sexual preference, and in so doing, have to sacrifice their personal integrity by pretending to be something they are not. Forcing that on them is immoral.

They're just worried that people will actually ENJOY having sex, and may decide to spend Sunday in bed rather than spending it prostrating themselves before their sky-god.
Instead they must apply enough guilt to make each and every one of them so sexually frustrated that they HAVE to find an outlet for all that pent-up energy... You guessed it... in church.

bornagain, there is no need to shout. My sin was thinking that the USA version of Christianity is the only way to think feel and believe.

"As a Christian, I am ashamed of my former narrow-minded paranoia"
WHAT narrow minded paranoia do you speak of? Homosexuality? If so...you can NOT claim to be a follower of Christ and live a life OPPOSED to HIS WORDS.

As a Christian, I am ashamed of my former narrow-minded paranoia, but I was genuinely mentally ill. Now that I've regained my senses, I see why non-Christians find fundies so awful. I think a lot of us might be ill, and this could explain their bad behavior.

So, God is just an insecure bigot, then. You really get off to the thought of people roasting in hell, don't you?

I can't even imagine what it's like to live one's life that way. Hell, even as a lesbian, I've lived in very progressive parts of the country and have never really felt discrimination over it...

Hey, Bionic. As an ex-Christian, I can answer this question. The Christian fundamentalist simply feels cocooned from the world; its not a state of paranoia so much as a sense of seperation, as if they somehow walk apart from the physical reality around them. Faith is used as a comfort-blanket to protect them from anything different or unpalatable; anything sperate from church or scripture exists in a parrelel reality with which Christians have no involvement. It's very dull.

Then why do we see all these fundamentalists acting like homosexuality--or sex in general, really--is some huge threat to the world? Why do they act like there are enemies everywhere trying to tempt them all to evil?
