Is seems like one of the ways in which we understand 'ideas' or 'thoughts' or 'concepts' is by imagining them as objects. This is evidenced by the fact that abstract ideas usually feature within language as nouns, the part of speech usually reserved for physically material 'stuff'. I am wondering to what extent the various entailments of 'objects', and their ontology more broadly, carries over into this metaphorical usage.
