Update on growing morning glory vines indoors during March of 2011.

This is a quick update to see how the morning glory and black eyed susan vine seedlings are doing.

It is March 2011 and all is well in my basement indoors growing these vines from seed.

These vines are easy to grow and can be started indoors earlier to get a head start, they can also be direct sowed but sometimes you may not always have as much success.

I soak the seeds of the morning glories overnight to help aid in germination.

As you watch in the video the plants are doing well and some have been direct sowed in 6pks.

If you have any questions please feel free to post below I'd love to help in anyway.

  • Hi Dianne I'm starting flowers this year . How long do you keep them under the lights or do you keep them till you transplant them outdoors?

  • @leeta2001 I start moving plants in the greenhouse come March , the times will vary depending on size and what they are..

  • We have the cypress vines here popping up in the yard different places. Your morning glories look great. I grow japanese morning glories for a hobby. I wish I could grow the cup and saucer vine (Cobaea) but it never has lived for me. My climate may not be right for that one.

  • @lakemarygardens , thanks! the cobaea grew very aggressively for me but never seen it bloom before heading out the door.. my cardinal climber is going crazy outside right now, more vine than blooms however..

  • Morning glories are such beautiful flowers. Some people don't like them because they're invasive. I personally can't think of a nicer way to be invaded. :)

  • @Praxxus55712 , yeah I don't mind either! lol

  • Very nice video with a great variety of different plants for me to start from seed indoors next season. You make me want to build my own greenhouse. This hobby is very addicting and a nice diversion from work and school. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and expertise.
