What started as a rally on Leimert Park to protest the verdict of the George Zimmerman trial turned into a spontaneous and unpermitted march down Crenshaw Blvd, shutting down the Expo Line and eventually taking over all four lanes of the streets without a permit. While it was not a traditional permit march, it was not a "riot" and the only violence perpetrated was by the racist institution of the police.
